Outdoor Grills

Some people will measure their success in life based on the type of outdoor grill they own. Others will simply love the freedom that some outdoor grills provide; a portable cooking surface, a stress-free appliance, etc..
Best Cast Iron Grill | Outdoor Grills

Outdoor grills are arguably one of the most popular appliances in the world. They provide a tremendous number of benefits, but most importantly they add to the dining experience, whether at home hosting a dinner for family and friends, at an outdoor function or at a campground; the outdoor grill is iteself part of the grilling "experience."

Finding an outdoor grill to meet a particular needs is never difficult; there are hudnreds (maybe even thousands) of different types, manufacturers and makes of grills. However, to truly enjoy your grilling experience, it is essential that you make sure that your outdoor unit has a cast iron grill. Anything else (with the potential exception of high-end stainless stell) will result in disappointment.

As noted earlier, the cast iron grill provides the best searing compared to any other grilling surface. This alone will result in a better dining experience for yourself and your guests. The reason for this is that cast iron can absorb and retain heat better than all other grids.

Types of Outdoor Grills

A cast iron grill is often said to be only as good as the unit it comes with. This means that you will have a variety of different heating options when it comes to your outdoor grill:

>> Charcoal. Traditionalists will argue that the only way to heat your grill is through charcoal. This heat source is a cleaner alternative to wood and can heat up to well over 2,000 degrees F (1,100 degrees Celcius). The problem with charcoal is that it takes a long time to reach a desired temperature and it is often difficult to control that temperature once it is reached unlike a gas grill which can be easily adjusted by dialing a lower gas pressure.

>> Propane. As a cheap alternative to charcoal, propane gas can heat a grill fairly quickly. As a high pressure gas, propane must be stored in proper holding tanks, requiring refuelling at regular intervals (when the tank is empty). As a cost-effective alternative, propane does not allow for the same flavor (as some would argue) as charcoal briquettes, but it is quicker and cleaner with less dangerous emissions.

>> Natural Gas. Also cost-effective, natural gas grills require special lines and grills to accommodate the higher pressure. Unlike propane, a natural gas line will never go "empty," making it a more convenient alternative.

>> Infrared heating. As an expensive option, infrared heating will cook/sear food differently than the options shown above. As such, a cast iron grill would not be used (or needed) with this type of set up.

As evidenced above, there are plenty of differnet options when it comes to your outdoor cast iron grill.
